Traditional Bluegrass

With a deep tradition in bluegrass, Rickey Wasson delivers a very powerful debut album filled with solid bluegrass music from a new generation artist that will appeal to all ages. At the age of four Ricky Wasson's musical talent started to develop. From performing in church as a child to presently being the lead singer of a popular bluegrass group, J.D. Crowe and the New South for the past twelve years. Rickey also has performed with Alison Krauss' band. After Rickey's powerful vocals have placed him in an elite group of today's top bluegrass singers including his lead vocals on J. D. Crowe & The New South's hit song and album, "Lefty's Old Guitar" that garnered the 2008 SPBGMA Song of the Year, 2007 IBMA Album of the Year, 2008 Grammy Nomination, and #1 hit Song and Album on Bluegrass Unlimited Magazine's National Bluegrass Survey Charts. Rickey has released 8 albums so far, some of them were recorded with Southern Blend that he formed in 1984. In 1990 he recorded a CD with Alison Krauss and J.D. Crowe, "Songs From the Old Country Church". In 2008 he released, "From the Heart & Soul" and is presently working on a new project with J.D. Crowe and a solo album.

Rickey also owns and operates a store where he continues his passion for music as he is an authorized Martin Guitar dealer and repairs many stringed instruments.
